Legendary Shotokan karateka, but he said that shotokan is only useful for young fit people. As you get older you should do Goju, and older still, tai chi. However, I think that practice of the very 'deep' tai chi that I experienced on Saturday may not be conducive to also practising an external art simply because it requires 100% of your commitment to be able to reach the 'deep mind' state that is the main purpose of this particular style. Other styles of tai chi that are not so focussed on achieving this 'deep' state though may be more compatible with simultaneous training of an external art. I'm just guessing though....Sue Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16008609198511182782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7361443425638782419.post-67788878237540606052013-01-30T10:33:39.195+00:002013-01-30T10:33:39.195+00:00The internal arts are a real eye opener, and I fin...The internal arts are a real eye opener, and I find that they reveal a lot of the true foundation and principles of inner self control in martial arts that leads to control of your own energy and the flow of energy from others, it teaches you where your balance is and that real power can be generated from relaxation, and above all for me it made me realise that there is another way and its a way that is easy on the joints and dose not rely on muscling it out nor on power or strength a way that revives and suits an ageing body.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11940072935924060163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7361443425638782419.post-65197990940324249522013-01-29T16:22:30.142+00:002013-01-29T16:22:30.142+00:00Sue, another interesting article.
